Realty Studies

Since 1980, the primary objectives of Realty Studies have been to serve as a focal point for research and educational projects of faculty members, both in real estate and in allied disciplines throughout Arizona; to analyze and evaluate the Arizona real estate market on behalf of private, public, and governmental organizations; to conduct studies related to real estate, and to publish the results of those studies; and to assist in the development of real estate educational programs throughout Arizona that will enhance the professionalism and knowledge of those involved in the real estate industry.

The objectives of Realty Studies are focused on three program areas:

Research:

To collect and analyze data and information concerning the multifaceted real estate industry and market, and to conduct objective research studies that provide insight into solutions to problems confronting the real estate industry.

Education:

To develop and offer rigorous, high-quality continuing education courses that are not provided elsewhere in Arizona, and to assure that these courses encompass the latest in technology, concepts, and information.

Support Information Systems:

To regularly inform people of the activities of Realty Studies; to develop means for consistently delivering data, information, and other topics of interest to the real estate industry; to develop a basic library of real estate materials, books, and data bases to aid the industry and faculty; and to assist real estate organizations in conducting research projects.

Based on these stated objectives and goals, the primary emphasis of Realty Studies has been to establish and maintain a data base on real estate activity in Maricopa County and the state of Arizona. Several programs have been developed to create and maintain the data base(s) and information based on analysis of that data is published regularly in cooperation with ASU's Center for Business Research.
